PianoArts 2012 North American Biennial Piano Competition

Twelve semifinalists compete and have opportunities to receive:

  • Prizes totaling over $22,000 (First Prize: $10,000)
  • PianoArts fellowships
  • Concert engagements
  • Scholarship award
  • Performance of complete concerto in finals with Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra

During the competition and festival week, semifinalists:

  • Rehearse and perform with Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra musicians
  • Perform for world-class judges
  • Have private sessions with judges following the competition
  • Perform all movements of a concerto
  • Have private sessions with PianoArts Music Director Andrews Sill
  • Participate in sessions with professionals on "How to Work with Managers," "How to Compete," and "Engage & Build Programs for Diverse Audiences"
  • Perform Outreach Concerts and recitals
